Apple Cider Vinegar

While I claim no medical expertise whatsoever (I am not a doctor), I will share some evidence of how Apple Cider Vinegar can benefit your body -- both internally and externally. Apple Cider Vinegar has been used for thousands of years. In fact, Hippocrates, the father of medecine, used AVC back in around 400 B.C. for its health giving qualities. Even today, many use it as a common household remedy. The best type of ACV to buy is unfiltered, unpasturised, organic ACV with "the mother" (little particles you will see at the bottom of the bottle). These particles are a good thing. My favorite brand is Bragg, which can be found just about anywhere these days. Anyway, here is a list of the many benefits ACV contains: Has anti-tumor potential Prevents bladder stones and urinary tract infections Strengthen the immune system Increase stamina Alleviate symptoms of arthritis and gout Reduce sinus infections and sore throats Balance high cholesterol Improve skin conditions such as acne Protect against food poisoning Increase metabolism which promotes weight loss Improve digestion and improve constipation Prevent muscle fatigue after exercise Fight allergies in both humans and animals Stops heartburn (believe it or not -- it works!) Diabetes: Apple Cider Vinegar may help to control high blood sugar levels, which is why it is often used as a natural treatment for diabetes. Weight Loss: While it is not known why, many people claim that Apple Cider Vinegar promotes weight loss. Some theories suggest that ACV helps to speed up the metabolism, while others suggest that it burns calories. Nutritionists also believe that combining Vitamin B6 and Lecithin with Apple Cider Vinegar is highly effective for weight loss. A suggested remedy is to mix 2 teaspoons of ACV mixed with a glass of water and drink this before every meal or sip it slowly throughout the day. These are just a few of the many benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV); and remember ALWAYS speak to your doctor if you are ill.

Tips for Tackling Lower Back Pain

Following any period of prolonged inactivity, begin a program of regular low-impact exercises. Speed walking, swimming, or stationary bike riding 30 minutes a day can increase muscle strength and flexibility. Yoga can also help stretch and strengthen muscles and improve posture. Ask your physician or orthopedist about exercises appropriate for your age and designed to strengthen lower back and abdominal muscles. Basically, it's all about the core. And don't forget to stretch before exercise or other strenuous physical activity. Don’t slouch when standing or sitting. When standing, keep your weight balanced on your feet. Your back supports weight most easily when curvature is reduced. At home or work, make sure your work surface is at a comfortable height for you. Sitting in a chair with good lumbar support and proper position and height will help tremendously. Keep your shoulders back. Switch sitting positions often and periodically walk around the office or gently stretch muscles to relieve tension. A pillow or rolled-up towel placed behind the small of your back can provide some lumbar support. And skip the high-heeled shoes no matter how great you look in them -- i's just not worth it. Sleep on your side to reduce any curve in your spine. Always sleep on a firm surface. Ask for help when transferring an ill or injured family member from a reclining to a sitting position or when moving the patient from a chair to a bed. Don’t try to lift objects that are too heavy. Lift with your knees, pull in your stomach muscles, and keep your head down and in line with your straight back. Keep the object close to your body. Do not twist when lifting. Maintaining proper nutrition and diet to reduce and prevent excessive weight, especially weight around the waistline that taxes lower back muscles hepls as well. A diet with sufficient daily intake of calcium, phosphorus, and vitamin D helps to promote new bone growth. A daily multiviamin isn't a bad idea. Finally, if you smoke, quit. Smoking reduces blood flow to the lower spine and causes the spinal discs to degenerate.

Silent Killer Diseases

Basically, a "silent killer" disease is one that produces little or no symptoms. They are unfortunately common as often even doctors can miss them. Probably the most comon silent killers diseases are heart disease, hypertension and diabetes. One can have any one of these (or more than one) and never have a clue. Heart disease is the number one silent killer disease. The main risk factors for heart disease are hypertension, smoking, sedentary lifestyle and raised cholesterol. There are also other lesser known silent killer diseases that include primary amyloidosis, Renal cell cancer , pancreatic cancer, Hepatitis B or C infection to name a few. Cancer, in particular, as group is the next biggest silent killer.Estimated deaths in a year due to cancer is 6.2 million. Lung Cancer and Mesothelioma are two silent killer diseases like. Smoking causes 87% of lung cancers and Mesothelioma, which is due to inhalation of asbestos fibers is a very lethal cancer. Diabetes affects more tha 200 million people world wide and this number seems to be on the increae. Many of those who have this silent killer have no clue that they are ill. More than 3.2 people die every year due to the silent killer known as diabetes. Liver infection from Hepatitis B and C viruses are also silent killer diseases. They can cause cirrhosis, liver cancer and death. Both these viruses have infected almost 530 million people world wide. Every year there are 3 to 4 million people who are newly infected by the viruses. There is no cure or vaccine for chronic hepatitis C infection. http://www.medindia.net/health_statistics/health_facts/Silent-Killer-Facts.htm#ixzz2gO6oxxmr

What Is the DASH Diet? It was developed by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), a part of the National Institutes of Health. Even though the diet is meant to target blood pressure, it has also been shown to offer protection against osteoporosis, cancer, heart disease, stroke and diabetes. Because it promotes healthy eating and snacking, the DASH diet may also help people lose weight. The overall goal of the diet is to lower sodium consumption in order to lower blood pressure. The DASH diet requires the ample consumption of whole grains, fruits, vegetables and low-fat dairy. There can be limited consumption of fish and poultry, while red meat, sweets and fatty foods should be consumed sparingly.
